CareerZen Auto Apply Chrome Extension

If you install and use our Chrome extension for Auto Apply, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy. The extension connects your CareerZen account to ZipRecruiter so you can find matching jobs and apply with saved answers. It only runs when you use Auto Apply features; we do not use it to browse unrelated sites on your behalf.

Information the extension reads

When you start a job search or apply flow on ZipRecruiter while logged into your own account, the extension may read job listing details (such as title, company, location, and job page URL) and application questions shown on ZipRecruiter application forms. To confirm that you are signed in to ZipRecruiter, the extension may read session-related browser cookies on ZipRecruiter domains. We use this only to detect login status and support connect and apply flows initiated by you.

Information stored on your device

The extension stores data locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local), including a CareerZen sign-in token used to call our API, whether ZipRecruiter appears connected, and related connection state. This data stays on your device until you sign out of CareerZen in the extension, clear extension data, or remove the extension.

Information sent to CareerZen

The extension sends data to CareerZen servers over HTTPS when you use Auto Apply, including jobs you found, application questions and answers you save, apply status updates (such as applied, needs answers, ready, or failed), and requests authenticated with your CareerZen account token. We do not store your ZipRecruiter password or ZipRecruiter session cookies on our servers. When you connect ZipRecruiter, we record on your CareerZen account that the extension was linked (a timestamp only), not third-party login credentials.

Retention and deletion

You can disconnect ZipRecruiter from the extension popup or CareerZen settings, which clears the linked state on your account and removes local connection data. Signing out of CareerZen in the extension clears the stored CareerZen token from extension storage. Jobs, answers, and apply history stored in your CareerZen account remain until you remove them in Auto Apply or delete your CareerZen account. Deleting your CareerZen account removes your account data from our platform in accordance with our account deletion process.

Third-party sites

ZipRecruiter is a third-party service with its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for your activity on ZipRecruiter. The extension interacts with ZipRecruiter only when you choose to connect, search, or apply.
