Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will focus on securing and monitoring Azure cloud environments, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP Moderate.

You will work closely with internal IT, DevOps, Compliance, and client-facing teams to secure cloud resources and help clients achieve and maintain cybersecurity compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Security Operations

  • Monitor and secure Azure environments, including VMs, storage, networking, and PaaS services
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Log Analytics
  • Implement and maintain Azure Security Center policies and recommendations
  • Perform regular security posture assessments using Microsoft tools and third-party platforms

Threat Detection & Incident Response

  • Analyze logs and alerts from Azure-native and third-party SIEM/SOAR tools
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats
  • Develop and maintain playbooks for common incident response scenarios
  • Participate in security incident triage, response, and remediation

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer and audit Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
  • Monitor for suspicious identity behavior using tools like Identity Protection and Entra Audit Logs

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure cloud environments align with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, CMMC, and FedRAMP Moderate
  • Assist with audit preparation, evidence collection, and documentation
  • Help maintain security documentation and policies for clients and internal teams

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with IT, Compliance, and DevOps teams to implement secure architecture.
  • Stay current on Azure security best practices, threats, and updates
  • Participate in internal security reviews, tabletop exercises, and training initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on cloud security
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security tools and services
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals: threat detection, vulnerability management, IAM, and incident response
  • Experience working with security frameworks: NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53.
  • Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR tools and interpreting cloud log data
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, KQL) is a plus

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent
  • Other relevant certs (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, etc.) are a plus
