Title: System Engineer

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer with specialized expertise in Microsoft Cloud technologies, including M365, Azure, Power Platform, and similar. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems and solutions to support our organization's needs. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Administrate and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Power Platform Solutions: Develop and deploy solutions using the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, to streamline business processes and enhance productivity.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced level technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based systems and applications, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales engineers, IT teams, developers, and other stakeholders to align cloud solutions with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance system performance and capabilities.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technical and Professional Certifications:

Preference will be given to those candidates who have the following certifications (or equivalent experience)

Entry Level Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)

Advanced Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303, AZ-304)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-100, MS-101)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cloud engineering or similar role, focusing on Microsoft Cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong background in Microsoft 365 administration and management.
  • Experience with the Power Platform, including developing and deploying Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks for cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Azure CLI.

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform technologies.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a cloud environment.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
