Job description
JOB PURPOSE
The ADMS system environment is a high-availability configuration with complex technology setups, including servers, networks, and security devices. It is both a mission-critical and highly regulated area of the business.
This position provides basic technical support for microprocessor-based industrial control systems, applications, and technologies in a Microsoft and Linux operating system environment for the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The ADMS system operates as one unified system that provides Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for industrial control assets in the delivery and management of electric power.
The role is responsible for ADMS system maintenance, support, troubleshooting, security and compliance with regulatory standards, project work, and 24x7x365 on-call support (including storm response).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Performs all work activities with professionalism, ensuring a safe and accident-free workplace.
- Troubleshoots and supports ADMS systems that provide real-time monitoring and SCADA control of assets. Participates in 24x7x365 support, including on-call storm response. Provides both on-site and remote support using company-provided computing, monitoring, alerting, and telephony tools.
- Assists in ADMS technology evaluation and selection processes, ensuring compatibility between client requirements, technical performance, and compliance needs.
- Supports programming and database activities in a multi-cluster, active-active (snap, clone, load) redundant database environment. Maintains a basic understanding of networks, security, operating systems, patching, backup and recovery, and other relevant technology areas. Continues to develop technical skills.
- Assists with installation and maintenance of ADMS system hardware and software. Contributes to the development of standard procedures for compliance and security.
- Supports performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning for high-availability, mission-critical Distribution Management systems.
- Stays up to date on operational and compliance procedures and consistently follows departmental processes.
- Meets deadlines for assigned work tasks, documentation, status reports, expense reports, time entry, and other related responsibilities.
- Communicates effectively with clients, peers, management, and vendors in both technical and non-technical matters. Demonstrates competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reports key metrics and service indicators to management.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Complies with all company policies and standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
