Sr. Linux Systems Administrator

Tope is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to support the AF Strategic Program Information Services team in support of the Sentinel Information Services (IS) team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide Systems Administration for Linux/RHEL operating systems
  • Deploy and configure Linux applications and services
  • Installation of various COTS and GOTS software applications
  • Software licensing and server certification
  • Testing application functionality; ensuring proper and up-to-date security configurations
  • Software removal from networks
  • Responsible for training other team members on Standard Operating Procedures
  • Perform software version upgrades
  • Implement and test software patches and security fixes
  • Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new system changes
  • Develop, execute, and improve documentation for installation, configuration, hardening, operations and maintenance tasks
  • Provide input to and follow direction from Configuration Management processes
  • Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis and resolving faults and errors

Position requires a current Security+ Certification, United States Citizenship, fully adjudicated DoD Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance and at least 5*+ years’* experience with a MS degree; 7*+ years’* experience with a BS degree; or 10+ years’ experience with a HS diploma with:

· IT principles, including operating systems, networking, and database management

· Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

· Updating and administrating applications on RHEL servers

· DevOps experience deploying and implementing software services and APIs

· Security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption

· Industry-specific regulations and standards, such as ISO 9001 or NIST

· Vulnerability scanning software

· Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

· Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, migration and deployment such as AWS

· Load balancing/failover technologies

· Migrating and/or extending on-premises software to the cloud

· Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets via phone, email, and remote control

· Utilize DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance

Other skills desired are:

· AWS Cloud Certification is a preferred

· Standards compliance and information assurance, including ITAR, CCA, FedRAMP, DIACAP, RMF, ITIL, CMMI

· Understanding of the DoD environment and familiarity with the DoD Acquisition System

· Ability to build bridges across organizational boundaries, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical leaders across large complex organizations.

· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple related projects, assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
