⭐⭐⭐ Enterprise Network Engineer ⭐⭐⭐
Pay Rate: $175,000–$225,000/year + bonus; Based on experience
Location: Boston, MA area (Hybrid)
Travel: Approximately 25%
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Location Requirement: Must reside between Saratoga Springs, NY, and Boston, MA (strongly preferred)

Our client in the Boston, MA area is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Network Engineer to join a fast-growing IT services organization. This senior-level, client-facing role blends deep technical leadership with consultative engineering, pre-sales solutioning, and enterprise architecture. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this position is ideal for a seasoned network expert who enjoys designing complex environments, advising executives, and influencing large-scale network strategy.

Responsibilities of the Enterprise Network Engineer will include:

• Design and implement enterprise-scale, multi-site network architectures, including data center, WAN, cloud, wireless, and security environments
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients, aligning network solutions with business objectives and risk profiles
• Support pre-sales engineering efforts, including technical discovery, solution architecture, proposal development, and client presentations
• Define and promote networking best practices, standards, and reference architectures
• Architect secure network environments using zero-trust principles, segmentation, and regulatory compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, SOX, etc.)
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal technical leadership and knowledge sharing
• Leverage automation and monitoring tools to improve reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Participate in vendor engagements, industry forums, and technology evaluations
• Stay current with emerging enterprise networking and security technologies

Qualifications for the role of Enterprise Network Engineer:

• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience designing and implementing complex environments
• Senior-level background with architecture ownership, consulting, and executive communication
• Proven success in pre-sales engineering and customer-facing solution design
• Deep expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), WAN, SD-WAN, NAC, network segmentation, and wireless technologies
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet (NGFW, SD-WAN, NAC) and/or Arista (EVPN-VXLAN, CloudVision, spine-leaf) strongly preferred
• Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform
• Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills
• Advanced certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, Fortinet NSE 8 / FCP, Arista ACE Level 3, CISSP, or similar are highly preferred
