ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will be responsible for implementing, configuring and maintaining different technological solutions for the company. This person will focus on the administration network infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications. The role will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the systems operation and make recommendations for implementation. The role will oversee all technology operations within the food processing plant, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. A key responsibility is managing and optimizing SAP ERP systems to support production, logistics, quality control, and compliance requirements. This position may require employees to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) to successfully meet customers’ needs.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
- Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
- Overseeing and determining time frames for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
- Advise and keep appraised, senior and executive management on ongoing IT projects, issues, and resolutions
- Oversee SAP ERP implementation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with functional teams to ensure SAP supports business processes effectively.
- Manage SAP upgrades, patches, and integration with other systems.
- Manage, oversee and at times contribute to help desk operations
- Set up and configure Windows Servers and optimize them for security and performance
- Set up and configure IPSEC VPN tunnels and maintain firewalls
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with Windows servers and/or hosts
- Run quarterly network and data security checks on systems and remediate the findings
- Follow standard help desk procedures.
- Conduct follow-up when needed to ensure closure of ticket.
- After-hours technical support on an as-needed basis. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs
- Stay current with system information, changes, updates potential vulnerabilities
- Participates in all reasonable work activities as assigned by management
- Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
- Monitors and maintains the use of the photocopiers and printers.
- Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server and workstation backups.
- Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
- Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
- Perform on-site and remote technical support.
- Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
- Creates and maintains good technical documentation.
- Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- The priorities of the tasks would be assigned by the VP of Information Technology.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, and some overtime as needed to complete count duties
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including SQF, USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SSOPs and SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.
- 3+ years of IT Management experience
- 5+ years providing installation, configuring and troubleshooting issues with servers and applications
- 3+ years working with networking infrastructure with HP, Cisco and Sonicwall firewalls, switches and routers
- Strong knowledge of SAP ERP (MM, PP, QM, SD modules).
- Experience with network administration, cybersecurity, and database management.
- Extensive experience Windows Server Operating Systems
- Time management, business acumen, collaboration, decision-making and always using ethical conduct
- Proficient in standard business Microsoft office software
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- High School Diploma / Equivalent GED Preferred Associates Degree or Bachelors
- 3+ years of System Administration Experience
- IT Management 3+ years
- Ability to read and write English
- SAP Experience
