How You’ll Make an Impact
As our Director of Information Technology, you’ll be at the helm of our tech strategy, guiding our non-profit association through technological advances and digital transformations. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking people leader who can drive our IT strategy forward, ensuring alignment with the association’s business objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the IT department.
This position will begin as a fully remote role, with some travel required, and will transition to an in-office position once ARA’s new office in the Frisco, Texas area opens. The new office is expected to be operational within the next 12 to 18 months. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape ARA’s communications presence working from our future Dallas headquarters.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the IT team to foster collaboration and innovation and identify training opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Collaborate with the VP of Technology to develop and implement IT strategies that align with strategic objectives.
- Manage vendor and stakeholder relationships, including selection, negotiation, and support to deliver organizational value.
- Lead the planning and execution of large-scale IT projects using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and oversee quality assurance to maintain high standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using C#/.NET, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Server, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Implement cybersecurity practices to protect data and IT assets, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Technical Experience: We are seeking a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field, possessing moderate to superior knowledge and skills in all the following critical areas:
- People Management: Have exceptional people management skills, with a focus on building strong relationships, motivating team members, and creating a positive work environment.
- Team Leadership: Must have at least 5 years in a leadership role with demonstrated success in mentoring and developing IT teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Education: BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Communication: Excellent skills in conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
