Job Title: CNC Programmer

Department: Programming

Reports to: Shane Wemhoff

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary – Operates optical programming (digitizing) equipment to generate numerical control (NC) tape program used to control NC machine tools that drill, mill, rout, or notch parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Analyzes drawings, planning, specifications, and PCM’s to determine program input data such as hole sizes, tool sizes, reference points and direction of machine cutting.

Digitize full scale mylars as required.

Creates 3D model from 2D data as necessary.

Draws machine tool paths in CAM following guidelines for tool speed and efficiency to prepare documentation for use as tool shop aid.

Keys in additional instructions such as tools size, machine feed and speed rates, and starting point coordinates. Verify pathing using CAD system.

Create manufacturing process as it relates to manufacturing parts taking into consideration work holding and cutting forces.

Design document and program workholding tooling.

Education and/or Experience

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and bend allowance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database Software; Design Software, Development Software, Manufacturing software, Project Management software, Excel and Word, basic network file structure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
