Job description
CTG is seeking to fill an Associate Software Engineer opening for our client.
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months+ contract/long term
Overview:
Provides system administration and technical support for information systems, solving problems ranging from basic to complex. Supports diverse platforms, software, hardware, and tools, and performs daily production support, system maintenance, and special projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development for small to medium scope projects.
- Provide production and user support, including off-hour implementations and on-call rotation.
- Troubleshoot issues across Linux and Windows servers, Active Directory, SQL databases, and applications.
- Execute SDLC tasks, CI/CD processes using GitLab, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Maintain documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and test plans.
- Coordinate tasks and mentor less experienced staff on projects.
- Recommend technical solutions, process improvements, and new technologies.
- Adhere to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards.
- Collaborate with business units, technology teams, and occasionally vendors.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Works under supervision of Technology Team Lead; may receive guidance from senior staff.
- Independently executes technical tasks and supports project delivery.
- Leads small project efforts and coordinates team activities as needed.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associates degree and 4 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
- SQL, PowerShell/Linux scripting, Linux & Windows server administration, Active Directory.
- SDLC administration and execution; CI/CD tools (GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible).
- Agile methodology experience (Jira/Confluence).
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating between applications and business units, driving milestones, and delivering solutions.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Familiarity with the Bank's application framework and supported applications.
- Knowledge of integrated/interfacing applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, multitask across projects, and take initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
