Overview
We’re looking for a Junior–Mid Product Designer to join Quarterhill’s growing product design team, working on next-generation, AI-enabled products across transportation, tolling, and enterprise platforms.
This role is ideal for a designer with a strong visual eye, solid product fundamentals, and a genuine curiosity about how AI and emerging technologies can improve real-world user experiences. You’ll help design modern, scalable interfaces that combine clarity, performance, and trust—partnering closely with Head of product and engineers, to bring intelligent, data-driven experiences to life.
Our team is interested in viewing your portfolio showcasing product design and/or website work. We’re especially interested in seeing how you think, not just final screens.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Design end-to-end product experiences, from early concepts to polished UI
- Create high-quality UI designs for web-based products and marketing websites
- Translate product requirements into thoughtful, usable designs
- Contribute to and evolve design systems and visual standards
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure designs are built as intended
- Participate in critiques, feedback sessions, and iterative design reviews
- Support user research and incorporate insights into your design work

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related role
- Strong visual design skills (layout, typography, color, hierarchy)
- Experience designing responsive web experiences and websites
- Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma preferred)
- Solid understanding of UX fundamentals and user-centered design
- A positive, growth-oriented attitude—open to feedback and eager to learn
- Ability to explain your design decisions clearly and thoughtfully
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Experience with motion design or micro-interactions
- Familiarity with design systems or component-based design
- Exposure to enterprise, SaaS, or data-heavy products
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (not required, but helpful)
