Job Summary
The Webmaster is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s website(s). This role ensures websites are secure, up to date, user-friendly, and aligned with business goals, while coordinating content, performance, and technical functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain company website(s), ensuring uptime, performance, and security
- Update website content, graphics, and multimedia using CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)
- Monitor website performance, load speed, and user experience; implement improvements
- Ensure website compliance with accessibility standards and SEO best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and broken links
- Coordinate with designers, developers, marketing, and content teams
- Implement website backups, updates, and security patches
- Track and analyze website analytics (traffic, engagement, conversions)
- Manage domains, hosting environments, and SSL certificates
- Ensure cross-browser and mobile responsiveness
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Webmaster or similar role
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
- Experience with content management systems (CMS)
- Knowledge of web hosting, DNS, and server management
- Understanding of SEO, web analytics, and accessibility standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PHP, SQL, or other web programming languages
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Search Console, or similar tools
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe, Figma, Canva, etc.)
Working Conditions
- Typically office-based
- May require occasional after-hours support for critical updates or outages
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,555.59 - $64,497.05 per year
