Job Summary
The User Interface Designer will support the design and development of user-centered digital interfaces for web-based applications. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs and system requirements into intuitive, accessible, and visually effective interface designs. The position requires hands-on design execution, usability evaluation, and collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.
Job Description
- Participate in the creation, prototyping, development, and validation of human interface systems for digital products.
- Collaborate as part of a cross-functional design team using user-centered design methodologies.
- Partner with product planning, end users, and development teams to gather and define user and system requirements.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking to recommend best-in-class UI design solutions.
- Perform task and workflow analyses of current and emerging user practices.
- Conduct heuristic evaluations of systems and interface designs.
- Create flow diagrams, information architectures, screen layouts, and interactive prototypes.
- Develop and maintain user interface design specifications.
- Plan and conduct usability testing to validate interface effectiveness.
- Serve as a lead designer when needed, identifying daily project needs and representing UX design in project meetings.
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
- Proven visual design and UI development experience
- Experience designing for industry-standard platforms and operating systems
- Knowledge of responsive and accessible UI design principles
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as:
- Figma
- Axure RP
- Adobe Photoshop
- HTML/CSS
- Ability to independently manage design responsibilities and contribute at a project leadership level
Education Requirements
- Minimum: BA/BS in Human Factors, User Experience/User Interface Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Preferred: MS/MA/MFA in Human Factors, User Experience/User Interface Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Education Verification Required: Yes
Experience Requirements
- 3–8 years of User Interface design experience
- Coursework or professional experience in UI design, visual design, testing, and evaluation
