Job Description
Cobalt Communications seeks to hire a motivated individual for the position of Delphi Software Developer to join its development team. We are in a growth phase and looking for an individual who wants to be instrumental to this growth. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive compensation and benefits.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to code, test, debug and document software, assisting in the modification and maintenance of current internal systems and helping to design and implement new ones. Current systems include public-facing web-based applications, telephony API interfaces, TCP/IP client/server Win32-based applications and a variety of server-side systems using APIs to integrate with multiple different partners over the Internet. We use Microsoft SQL Server heavily and most applications are connected one way or another to these databases.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Experience designing and building Windows-based applications in Delphi 2010 and later, including but not limited to GUI design for end-user applications (UI/UX); proper use of Windows controls for usability and speed; ability to create multi-threaded processes to interface with external systems without locking up the UI; knowledge of Indy Internet VCL components; knowledge of the WebBrowser and Chromium components to render HTML within applications.
- Knowledge of basic encryption systems to protect sensitive information in transit or stored.
- Ability to write server-side Delphi applications to interface with external systems using technologies such as REST API, XML, SOAP, JSON, EDI, OAUTH2, FTP, etc.
- Ability to write data transformation routines in Delphi to store retrieved external data in SQL Server tables using ADO.
- 5+ years experience using Microsoft SQL Server as a database backend. Must be able to design and implement databases, tables, indexes, views and stored procedures comfortably. Must be able to write stored procedures, ad-hoc queries, and perform data transformation tasks in T-SQL.

Other Desired Qualifications and Skills
- 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar technical field.
- Visual Studio experience, developing dynamic websites in C#, ASP.NET, MVC, HTML, JavaScript/JQuery and CSS.
- Experience interfacing with the Windows TAPI system to read/control telephony devices.
- Knowledge of serial/USB port programming to read/control external devices connected to a PC.
- Windows Server management skills (back up, user management, encryption, domains, etc).

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
