Position Description

JOB TITLE: Prep Cook & Production Cook
DEPARTMENT: Restaurant
REPORTS TO: Chef/Kitchen Supervisor/Restaurant Manager

The following job description pertains to the Prep Cook and Production Cook at the Country Kitchen –
Ontario. This job description is designed to provide the applicant information on areas of responsibility, which applies to them. Job Summary:
The Prep Cook and Production Cook will safely prepare picture perfect, highly flavorful food within product quality and time standards. Safely prepares stores and rotates all food items to Country Kitchen standards. Assist the Team in taking care of the Guests Every Visit, Every Day to provide Absolute Guest
Satisfaction. You may also be required to do other duties as assigned that may not be listed.

Essential Functions:

1. Must obtain food handler permit and OLCC pre state and local laws.
2. Has the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
3. Works frequently in hot, damp environment.
4. Learns the entire menu in order to provide picture perfect food to the Guests.
5. Possesses strong communication skills.
6. Assists with Dishwasher duties.
7. Receives stores and handles food products following the correct Country Kitchen procedures.
8. Rotates food using the FIFO system.
9. Inspects prep area, reviews daily prep lists, and pulls items from freezer.
10. Prepares food items for service. Examples are: meats, bakery, vegetables, soups and sauces.
11. Portions and handles food products safely and according to CK Procedures.
12. Prepares all menu items using correct portions and plate presentation standards for quality assurance and a consistent product.
13. Cooks various parts of the order in proper sequence to ensure the entire order is ready at the same time.
14. Has the ability to read tickets and work every station.
15. Adheres to cooking time standards for all menu items.
16. Performs quality checks and temperature checks throughout the shift.
17. Practices clean-as-you-go while working and completes assigned opening and closing duties.
18. Prepares items safely and correctly using a variety of equipment and utensils.
19. Insures that the cook’s line is set up, restocked and torn down in a timely manner.
20. Insures that the buffet is set up, restocked and torn down in a timely manner.
21. Demonstrates Teamwork by assisting in all areas of the Back of House.

22. Completes assigned side work duties in a timely manner
23. Empties trash receptacles and places in dumpster on a regular basis.
24. Checks & cleans restrooms; sweeps and mops floors as needed.
25. Assists in removing debris from the parking lot and landscaping.
26. Has ability to operate brooms and mops.
27. Learns and follows sanitation and safety practices required in the Food Service Industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand and walk.
The employee is occasionally lifting and/or carrying from 5 pounds and up to 50 pounds. On occasion will be required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. You will also be working with commercial grade chemicals for cleaning.
