The Senior Database Administrator owns database reliability for high availability and low latency across near real-time trading and internet-facing systems, maintains and improves automation for maintenance, integrity checks, and performance baselines across on-premises SQL Server and Azure services, and manages backups and restores in both environments with regular recovery testing to strengthen RPO and RTO.

The role provisions and manages database security by creating logins and users, enforcing role-based permissions, integrating with Azure AD, applying least privilege, and conducting periodic access reviews. It implements and supports HADR solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, and Azure SQL geo-replication and auto-failover groups, while proactively monitoring health and capacity (jobs, waits, I/O, query performance, storage growth), troubleshooting incidents, and leading root-cause analysis with clear remediation.

Technical Requirements:

• 7–10+ years as a production DBA with Microsoft SQL Server, including recent experience with SQL Server 2019, 2022, and Azure SQL, and strong T-SQL proficiency.
• Proficient in tuning T-SQL queries, analyzing execution plans, diagnosing and optimizing complex database workloads; Experienced in implementing proactive performance monitoring, alerting, and tuning using native tools.
• Proven track record supporting high?availability environments.
• Strong backup and recovery strategy design and operations, including regular restore testing and automation.
• Hands?on with Azure SQL services, and Azure storage; familiarity with networking, security, and monitoring in Azure.
• Strong scripting and automation ability with PowerShell & T-SQL.
• Experience in production monitoring, job orchestration, health dashboards, and capacity planning.
• Experience running SQL Server in virtualized and/or containerized environments; familiarity with SAN/NAS performance characteristics.

Pay: $45.00 - $85.00 per hour
