Job description

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Escalations

  • Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex issues involving servers, networks, firewalls, cybersecurity, and cloud platforms.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to Level 1–3 engineers.
  • Lead technical design discussions, infrastructure reviews, and client-facing solution presentations.
  • Maintain documentation standards and ensure consistent execution across the engineering team.

Infrastructure Architecture & Management

  • Architect, deploy, secure, and maintain:
  • Windows Server environments (2012–2022)
  • Active Directory / Entra ID hybrid environments
  • Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDS
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Storage arrays, NAS/SAN, and backup solutions
  • Oversee server builds, migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.

Networking

  • Configure and troubleshoot multi-site networks:
  • VLANs, routing, switching (Layer 2/3)
  • VPNs (site-to-site, client-to-site)
  • SD-WAN environments
  • Experience with MSP-standard tools such as Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, Unifi, or equivalent.
  • Ensure optimal performance, redundancy, and security of all network systems.

Microsoft 365, Azure & Licensing

  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenants, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • Manage Azure AD/Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and Azure VM infrastructures.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft licensing models (Business, Enterprise, SQL, Server CALs, etc.)
  • Assist clients with optimization and compliance around Microsoft licensing.

Cybersecurity

  • Implement and manage cybersecurity platforms:
  • Endpoint protection (SentinelOne, Defender)
  • Email security and phishing protection
  • SIEM/SOC integrations
  • Backup and disaster recovery systems (Axcient, Datto, Veeam, etc.)
  • Perform risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance framework support (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC2, HIPAA).
  • Create and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and processes.

Client Management & Project Delivery

  • Lead client onboarding, infrastructure assessments, and roadmapping sessions.
  • Act as technical liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Scope and execute projects such as:
  • Network redesigns
  • Server migrations
  • Cloud migrations
  • Security implementations
  • Backup / DR strategy deployment
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality.

Required Experience & SkillsTechnical

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical role within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Windows Servers, AD, Group Policy
  • VMware or Hyper-V
  • Networking (routing, switching, firewalls)
  • Microsoft 365 & Azure administration
  • Security tools and frameworks
  • Deep understanding of ITIL concepts, service delivery, and MSP operations.
  • Experience writing runbooks, architecture diagrams, and project documentation.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across several clients simultaneously.
  • Comfortable leading technical meetings and providing strategic guidance.
  • Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities.

Pay: From $51,175.00 per year
