Job description
JOB PURPOSE/REASON:
Serve in a Leadership role guiding the team that supports the District’s data, voice, and video systems equipment and infrastructure such as computers/laptops, printers, handheld devices, cell phones, telephone, PA, classroom sound enhancement, SMARTBoard, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
5 years of IT experience including 3 years of supervisory experience in any area.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
IT Certification Valid driver's license.
OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Firm understanding of network design and the ability to successfully configure systems to operate according to specifications; professional demeanor, self-directed, ability to multi-task and work under dynamic conditions; familiarity with equipment found in CCSD. Excellent language skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Novell, Microsoft, Cisco, Polycom, and Lightspeed sound enhancement or comparable certifications.
PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs analysis, diagnosis and resolution of defined systems as well as associated infrastructure problems for end users;
Leads a team of technical support staff, provides production reports and communicates trends, concerns and challenges with appropriate CCSD staff;
Installs, tests and maintains approved data, voice, and video systems as well as associated infrastructure;
Coordinates with internal IT staff, project managers and school personnel to ensure specified systems and associated infrastructure meet programmatic needs as well as comply with district standards. Systems include, but are not limited to computers/laptops, printers, handheld devices, cell phones, telephones, PA, classroom sound enhancement, SMARTBoard, etc;
Monitors and identifies capacity and performance issues for end user equipment to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation;
Responds to emergency or critical incidents in order to resolve, and/or prevent disruption of service;
Provides the highest level of service to all customers in a professional manner.
SECONDARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews current developments, literature and technical sources of information related job responsibilities;
Conducts training sessions with end users as necessary; Works responsibly without direct supervision;
Performs all other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
High degree of stress.
Ability to squat, bend, twist, lift and climb as necessary for satisfactory performance of all job aspects.
May be required to lift heavy equipment (50 pounds minimum).
