Job description
Martz Technologies is seeking a knowledgeable Automation Project Engineer to lead and support control systems projects across various client facilities. This role requires expert-level experience in system administration, control system design, and implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing automation projects, designing control systems, and developing process control solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily system administration for one or more active control systems projects, providing expert-level support for client control systems and facilities.
- Propose, develop, and implement process control solutions using knowledge of process equipment.
- Design electrical and mechanical control panels, create control system drawings, and program PLCs, Operator Interfaces, and Networking configurations.
- Lead or assist in control system qualification and commissioning protocols.
- Manage and implement limited-scope automation projects, developing and executing implementation plans.
- Develop and revise process control requirements and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety, cGMP (current good manufacturing practices), environmental, and quality regulations.
- Support the design and implementation of limited to intermediate-scope automation projects.
- Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA software applications to implement control system solutions.
- Define problems, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid conclusions from technical instructions and complex variables.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as company and site policies and procedures.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Perform peer reviews of control system designs, drawings, solutions, and strategies, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, helping to standardize AutoCAD drawings and improve documentation of internal processes and control solutions.
- Develop internal standards and quality control documents to improve operational efficiency within the organization.
- Document processes into Work Instruction Documents for use in training and quality control.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or an Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in a control systems integration environment, including troubleshooting and supporting capital projects.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively communicate with vendors, team members, and customers.
- Competency in computerized systems, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation, GE, and/or Siemens software and hardware is preferred.
- Automation project management experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
