Are you a technical expert with a passion for designing and managing complex infrastructures? We're seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team and take charge of our clients' network operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures
- Optimize performance and ensure seamless network operations
- Diagnose and solve high-level network issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and network engineers
- Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, and system functional specifications
- Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, or modify complex systems based on user or system needs
- Design, document, test, install, and configure systems in a VMware and Microsoft Server environment. Linux knowledge is strongly preferred but not required
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, supporting their professional growth and fostering a collaborative and positive team environment
- Offer expert-level technical knowledge across various IT domains, including networking, security, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and data storage
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions promptly
- Design, plan, and implement robust network architectures for clients, considering scalability, redundancy, security, and performance requirements
- Coordinate with Project Managers on installations, upgrades, migrations, and expansions, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal disruption to client operations
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and technical documentation to improve internal processes and client support
- Provide post-installation troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Act as a senior technical escalation point within the Professional Services team
- Assist in pre-sales activities as directed by management to architect solutions, create Bill of Materials, determine Scope of Work, and estimate hours needed to complete that scope, which may include on-site visits to and walk-throughs of clients' existing environments
- Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate
- Actively participate in continuing self-education and company-sponsored certification/training initiatives to meet personal growth goals and company/vendor requirements.
- Share your knowledge - conduct training sessions for less senior engineers, technicians, and sales team on your areas of expertise when requested.
Knowledge, Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Preferred Certifications include: Microsoft server, VMware VCP, VCAP or above Certifications, HP ASE, Fortinet NSE 4 and above certifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Microsoft Server environment.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing, implementing, managing & troubleshooting networks.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere vCenter ESXi. Ability to manage troubleshoot virtualized environments.
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP OSPF EIGRP) switching technologies VLANs VPNs security protocols network monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory (AD) services including domain controllers group management user authentication security policies.
- Experience with designing implementing managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings software deployment other network-related configurations across clients' environments.
- Expertise in configuring managing HP Aruba Cisco Juniper or other major networking equipment manufacturers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
