Summary
We are seeking a full time Junior Front End Developer to join our dynamic team at Compass Insurance Advisors. This is an entry-level role, perfect for a recent graduate or someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development of user-friendly web applications that enhance our clients' experience. Your work will play a vital role in helping us deliver exceptional service in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining front-end features for internal and client-facing web applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
- Work with frameworks like React to build interactive user interfaces.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate REST APIs and data from MySQL and Node.js.
- Maintain and enhance existing PHP-based applications.
- Debug and troubleshoot UI/UX issues to improve performance and usability.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Recent graduate (or self-taught with strong portfolio) in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of: HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, React (or other modern JavaScript frameworks), PHP & MySQL, Node.js & REST APIs
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Bonus: Experience or familiarity with: AWS Cloud services (S3, Lambda, EC2, etc.), Cloud Worker Processes (e.g., AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers, or similar serverless background task handling).
- No professional experience required, but personal projects, internships, or coding bootcamps are a plus.
