Job description
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join an Enterprise Advanced Data Analytics team focused on delivering complex, enterprise-scale business solutions. This role sits at the intersection of AI, machine learning, and data engineering, with a strong emphasis on large language models (LLMs) and enterprise data standardization.
The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying production-grade machine learning solutions. You will play a key role in solving complex business challenges across supply chain, manufacturing operations, workforce analytics, and logistics, partnering closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end AI/ML solutions, including the design, development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and large language models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven, actionable solutions.
- Perform data discovery and analysis, including data cleaning, preprocessing, transformation, and validation, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Develop insights and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Design, train, and fine-tune large language models using deep learning techniques such as transformers and recurrent neural networks.
- Ingest and analyze commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) system documentation (user guides, development manuals, database ERDs, training materials, etc.).
- Create application data mappings aligned to the OAGIS (Open Applications Group Integration Specification) business normalization standard.
- Contribute to enterprise data standardization initiatives by developing consistent taxonomies, data dictionaries, and mappings that enable interoperability and shared business semantics across systems.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on generative AI and machine learning.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) and their enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Agent-based systems and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, with experience using ML and AI frameworks such as LangChain, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Dataiku).
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Military experience may be considered in lieu of some requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and high-performance computing environments.
- Strong foundation in data modeling, statistical inference, and advanced machine learning techniques.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud data warehousing and big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, AWS Glue).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
