Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX (Onsite 3 days/week)
Citizenship Requirement: Due to federal contract requirements and security regulations, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role

About the Role

AiGenius is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to support a major enterprise software client. You will join an automation-first team responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining multi-cloud infrastructure supporting complex SAP and mission-critical environments. The role includes heavy involvement with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, cloud-native services, and container orchestration across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

This environment supports government-related missions across local, state, federal, and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure across multiple cloud providers using Terraform
  • Troubleshoot and debug Terraform modules and deployment issues
  • Run and modify Ansible playbooks to manage cloud and customer infrastructure
  • Use GitLab (multiple repositories) to maintain infrastructure and submit merge requests
  • Build, configure, and deploy containerized applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Analyze network traffic flow to troubleshoot connectivity issues between customer and hosted environments
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for system and network architecture
  • Develop SOPs, KB articles, technical bulletins, and governance documentation
  • Operate with a security-first mindset and ensure infrastructure adheres to security boundaries
  • Implement monitoring, configuration management, and logging for multi-tenant, multi-cloud environments
  • Use generative AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security where appropriate

Required Knowledge & Skills

Cloud Technologies

  • AWS: EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, VPC
  • Azure: VNets, Application Gateway, Storage Accounts, VMs, Load Balancers, Resource Groups
  • GCP: Projects, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong Terraform skills (module development, multi-cloud deployments)
  • Proficiency with at least one CI/CD platform
  • Strong scripting/programming skills (Bash, Python)
  • Experience designing RBAC and provisioning user access
  • Ability to investigate and understand detailed cloud configurations
  • Logging and log-processing experience in cloud environments
  • Solid networking knowledge (IP routing, subnetting, troubleshooting)
  • Strong Linux OS administration and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow and Jira

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5–8+ years of experience with:
  • Python
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
  • Concourse CI/CD
  • Vault
  • Identity Management
  • Experience with Unix/Linux internals (filesystems, system calls, hardening)
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, SDN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise designing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Ability to debug and optimize code
  • Strong automation mentality and ability to eliminate repetitive tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ownership-driven work style
