We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this Contract to permanent position, you will oversee critical systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering exceptional support.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Windows operating systems and Office 365 environments to ensure smooth functionality.
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and V-Sphere to support system scalability and efficiency.
- Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory and server environments to maintain security and performance.
- Provide responsive and detail-oriented support to internal employees, ensuring effective resolution of technical issues.
- Implement and oversee backup and recovery solutions using tools like Veeam or equivalent technologies.
- Monitor and maintain firewall systems, including Fortinet, with eventual plans to transition to Cisco.
- Collaborate on network protocols and configurations to enhance connectivity and performance.
- Conduct system diagnostics and troubleshooting to resolve operational challenges in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing cloud-based systems, particularly in Azure, to support organizational needs.
- Document processes and maintain system configurations for future reference and compliance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or engineering.
- Proficient in managing Windows operating systems and Office 365.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, and V-Sphere.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory and server management.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery tools such as Veeam or similar solutions.
- Experience with firewall systems, preferably Fortinet, with exposure to Cisco.
- Basic networking knowledge, including protocols and firewalls.
- Cloud experience, especially with Azure, is a plus.
