Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role requires a strong understanding of database technologies, particularly SQL Server, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Administer and manage SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Perform database performance tuning to optimize query execution and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Write and maintain shell scripts for automation of database tasks.
- Monitor database performance metrics and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas that support application requirements.
- Conduct regular backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices related to database management.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and changes for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in MySQL and SQL Server with hands-on experience in managing databases.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems for server management.
- Experience with performance tuning techniques to enhance database efficiency.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to write shell scripts for automation purposes is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to vaticinate potential issues before they arise.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
