Job Summary:
As the Data Center Facilities Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our state-of-the-art datacenter and colocation facility in Lynnwood, WA. Your primary focus will be to ensure the continuous uptime, security, and efficiency of the facility while leading a team of technicians and engineers. You will also work closely with clients to address their specific colocation needs and maintain excellent relationships.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the datacenter and colocation facility in Lynnwood, WA.
· Manage a team of datacenter technicians and engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise.
· Ensure the facility adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for security, safety, and environmental compliance.
· Monitor and optimize datacenter infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, and server equipment, to maintain peak performance and efficiency.
· Collaborate with the sales and customer support teams to understand clients' colocation requirements and provide customized solutions.
· Work with vendors and suppliers to source equipment, negotiate contracts, and manage service agreements.
· Plan and execute datacenter expansion and upgrades to meet the growing demands of our clients.
· Implement and maintain strict security protocols to safeguard the datacenter and prevent unauthorized access.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to datacenter procedures, operations, and incident reports.
· Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
· Manage the datacenter budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Proven experience (10+ years) in managing and operating data centers and colocation facilities.
· Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide technical staff effectively.
· Extensive knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, networking, and server hardware.
· Familiarity with industry best practices, compliance standards, and security protocols for datacenter operations.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams effectively.
· Demonstrated project management abilities for handling datacenter expansion and upgrades.
· Proficiency in using datacenter management tools and monitoring systems.
· Knowledge of energy-efficient practices and environmental sustainability in datacenter operations is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
