Job Purpose: This System Administrator is required to maintain critical systems with urgency and ownership while maintaining a high regard for the potential effects of actions taken, on the business and its customers. The System Administrator must exhibit all of the Company’s Cultural Attributes.
THIS IS A 100% REMOTE POSITION.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- The candidate is to have experience working with enterprise-class server platforms such as Windows 2016/2019/2022, with a strong focus on VMware.
- The candidate must have an understanding and in-depth knowledge of managing and administrating VMware (version 8.0), Microsoft Active Directory services, and storage area network
- Design and installation of enterprise systems and associated hardware.
- The candidate must be able to maintain and troubleshoot high availability systems in a 7x24 data center environment.
- He/she must also be able to develop and write systems documentation.
- Skills to determine problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions are a requirement.
- This position will require evening and weekend work on occasion in response to supporting systems in a 7x24 environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Windows 2016/2019/2022
- Advanced Experience with Active Directory,
- Terminal Server, Enterprise-class Dell Servers, DNS, WAN / LAN infrastructures.
- Prior experience working in mid to large-size enterprise environments.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum five years experience working as a system administrator with a focus on VMware
- Minimum five years experience working as an administrator of Windows or Active Directory.
- Minimum five years’ experience building server class systems
- Performed in a senior or lead technical role
- Passionate about learning new technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be able to work an on-call shift rotating with other staff which will include weekends and evenings
- Very strong communication skills and analytical aptitude with the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbal and in written form
- Strong hardware/software troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills are essential
- Ability to work independently
- Punctuality and dependability is required
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must be able to be coached and take on challenging projects
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
- Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
