As the trusted advisor and support team, Boston HelpDesk is looking for exceptional and highly motivated IT professionals to provide our clients with desktop, server and network administration, project management, and IT best practice implementation.

What kind of experience are we looking for?

Boston HelpDesk is looking to fill multiple System Administrator positions from mid to senior. Depending on the skill and experience, to assign to clients of varying technology levels

  • Someone who has been a junior administrator for a few years and is confident and has the technical expertise to make the next move up in their network administrator career
  • Someone who is already a seasoned Systems Administrator that can apply their experience and skills and take on a new challenge
  • Someone who has experience in delivering quality IT customer service

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Act as primary System Administrator for multiple clients
  • Perform as escalation point for other members of the team
  • Requirement to be available after hours for escalation purposes and projects
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment on a team or independently
  • Occasional travel when necessary
  • Participate in a one-week afterhours on-call rotation

What is a day as a System Administrator like at Boston HelpDesk?

  • Managing client networks and servers
  • Manage Azure/Microsoft365 tenants
  • Onboarding and offboarding client employees
  • Onboarding new clients
  • Working both remotely and onsite with clients as needed
  • Perform system maintenance
  • Work on client projects
  • Exchange online and SharePoint migrations
  • Migrating from on-premise to cloud technology
  • Implement new security solutions
  • Office moves and new office turn-ups

What technical skillset do you need to be successful in this position?

  • Strong Microsoft Windows server and active directory skills
  • Strong desktop management and support skills
  • Strong desktop hardware and OS skills
  • experience with building and troubleshooting servers
  • Experience with Hypervisor technology
  • Experience with Microsoft365 administration
  • Experience with Group Policy and scripting
  • Experience with networking such DNS, DHCP and other network protocols
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Experience managing antivirus, malware and/or EDR
  • Experience managing email security
  • Experience managing enterprise class backup
  • Experience with some enterprise class business applications
  • Experience with enterprise class wireless networks
  • Experience managing remote access solutions
  • Some familiarity with Microsoft Azure services
  • Some familiarity with SAN technology
  • Some familiarity with firewalls and switches

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
