Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 plus annual bonus and benefits
Reporting Mode: 100% Remote
We are seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer with strong experience in database architecture, development, and performance optimization, particularly within a SQL Server–driven production environment. This position sits within the Data Network Engineering team and focuses on application development, operational support, and SQL Server administration and tuning.
The role requires frequent collaboration with business users, data analysts, DevOps teams, and fellow engineers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting SQL Server production systems that power APIs, SSIS workflows, ETL pipelines, and user-facing applications:

We are seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer with strong experience in database architecture, development, and performance optimization, particularly within a SQL Server–driven production environment. This position sits within the Data Network Engineering team and focuses on application development, operational support, and SQL Server administration and tuning.
The role requires frequent collaboration with business users, data analysts, DevOps teams, and fellow engineers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting SQL Server production systems that power APIs, SSIS workflows, ETL pipelines, and user-facing applications:
- Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS
- SQL Server Agent, including job setup and issue resolution
- Python for scripting and automation
Experience or familiarity with the following areas is desired:
- Database performance analysis and tuning
- High availability technologies such as mirroring and replication
- Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
- AWS cloud infrastructure and services
- Database security and access governance
- Backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
- Capacity forecasting and system monitoring
- Experience with database monitoring platforms
- Managing and protecting PHI in HIPAA-compliant systems
- Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement scalable database solutions
- Drive database architecture and design decisions
- Define and enforce database best practices and standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues
- Administer database security and permissions
- Coordinate and execute system upgrades and migrations
- Monitor and improve database performance
- Build automation to streamline operations
- Provide ongoing production support
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years of SQL Server development and performance optimization (including indexing, query tuning, partitioning, and security)
- 3+ years supporting enterprise-level production environments with SDLC deployments and operational support
