Manager of Restaurant IT Support Services
Department: Technology
Reports To: VP of Technology

Position Summary
The Manager of Restaurant IT Support Services is responsible for leading, maintaining, and optimizing the technology infrastructure that powers R&R Brands’ restaurants, theaters, and corporate teams. This role ensures all restaurant-level technology—POS systems, kitchen display systems, payment devices, networking, back-office tools, and integrations—operate reliably and securely.
This position partners closely with restaurant operations, field leaders, and brand support teams to minimize downtime, streamline workflows, and improve end-to-end system performance across multiple states and concepts. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced, high-volume nature of restaurant environments and can proactively design systems that scale as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Technology & POS Systems
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot all point-of-sale (POS) systems across multi-unit restaurant operations.
- Support and optimize integrations between POS, labor management, inventory, accounting, online ordering, loyalty, and delivery platforms.
- Partner with GMs, Area Directors, and culinary/operations leadership to resolve in-store technology issues quickly and reduce operational disruption.
- Oversee the performance of kitchen display systems (KDS), printers, payment terminals, handheld ordering devices, and back-office reporting systems.
- Manage restaurant technology lifecycle: procurement, deployment, configuration, and replacement.
System & Network Administration
- Maintain and monitor network connectivity, internet redundancy, and router/firewall configurations for all restaurant and theater locations.
- Ensure reliable uptime for servers, POS network infrastructure, Wi-Fi access points, and VPN connections.
- Support remote-access workflows used by area managers and corporate teams.
- Monitor bandwidth usage, POS network segmentation, and security protocols to ensure stable operations during peak business periods.
Security & Compliance
- Implement PCI compliance standards across all restaurant payment systems and devices.
- Manage backups, endpoint protection, anti-virus, and disaster recovery processes for restaurant and corporate systems.
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities and ensure secure handling of payment card data, guest data, and employee information.
- Conduct recurring audits to verify security controls, password hygiene, and access privilege reviews.
User & Technical Support
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for escalated restaurant and office technology issues.
- Support rollout of new equipment: POS terminals, KDS stations, printers, network hardware, tablets, and security systems.
- Administer accounts, roles, and permissions for POS, Office 365, Restaurant365, scheduling platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Train restaurant teams on proper use of technology systems and best practices to reduce recurring issues.
Projects & Documentation
- Lead and support system upgrades, technology rollouts, conversions, and multi-unit deployment projects.
- Document all restaurant system configurations, wiring schematics, network details, and technical troubleshooting guides.
- Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring tools, and efficiency improvements to reduce downtime and help restaurants operate more smoothly.
- Assist in vendor management, including POS, telecom, internet service providers, and hardware suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 3+ years of IT infrastructure or systems administration experience, ideally in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments.
- Strong working knowledge of major restaurant POS platforms (Toast preferred)
- Experience with back-office platforms (Restaurant365, inventory systems, scheduling/labor tools).
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud application management.
- Strong understanding of restaurant networking: LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, cabling, and wireless architecture.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance, payment security, and EMV devices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills—ability to support operators and non-technical users.
Salary & Benefits
- Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
