Job Summary

Calcmatics is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our technology team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that enhance our customer's operational efficiency and experience. As a Full Stack Developer, you will work on diverse projects, from customer-facing websites to internal and external applications, ensuring our customer's technology solutions are robust, scalable, and user-friendly.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and develop robust and scalable full-stack web applications leveraging Java/Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS-native services.
  • Lead and perform code reviews, ensuring adherence to clean code practices, design standards, and security/compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.).
  • Implement and administer Kafka for high-throughput data streaming, event-driven design, and real-time data processing.
  • Design and optimize back-end systems, writing efficient, maintainable code and implementing best practices for RESTful APIs, messaging, and integration workflows.
  • Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity, schema consistency, and performance across relational and NoSQL data sources (e.g., Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift).
  • Collaborate with Architects and Product Owners to decompose business requirements into technical tasks that align with solution designs and sprint goals.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and CodeCommit to streamline deployments across development, test, and production environments.
  • Integrate AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation to deliver cloud-native applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, leveraging logging, metrics, and alerting to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and agile ceremonies, driving continuous improvement across development teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience at a senior or lead level.
  • 3+ years of Kafka configuration, implementation, or administration experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Angular, Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, REST API development, and microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience with AWS technologies, including Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, EC2, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Kinesis, and Redshift.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and database design (PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, CodePipeline, and JIRA in agile/scrum environments.
  • Experience with domain-driven and event-driven design principles.
  • Solid understanding of integration design patterns, data streaming, and asynchronous communication.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
