Job description

Role : Site Reliability Engineer

Location: 5 days on site – Jersey City, New Jersey

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension)

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and operationalize Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical platforms and data products
  • Design and build custom monitoring and alerting solutions to track reliability, latency, availability, and data freshness
  • Implement advanced observability using Grafana and Dynatrace, including dashboards, alerts, and anomaly detection
  • Operate and optimize systems running in AWS, with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and automation
  • Partner with development teams to embed reliability best practices into CI/CD pipelines and system design
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive reliability culture through documentation, runbooks, and engineering standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to SRE best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Grafana (dashboards, alerting, visualization)
  • Dynatrace (APM, infrastructure monitoring, real user monitoring)
  • AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Proven experience implementing SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
  • Experience building custom monitoring solutions (metrics, logs, traces, synthetic checks, data freshness checks)
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture

Nice to Have

  • Background in banking / financial services environments
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Familiarity with data observability and data quality tooling

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
