IT Manager – Business Process & Technology Integration

Job Overview:
M. Bohlke Veneer Corp. is seeking a well-rounded IT Manager who not only has a strong foundation in IT infrastructure but also excels in software development and business process optimization. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen — someone who can manage servers and networks when needed, but more importantly, understands how to leverage technology to streamline accounting, manufacturing, and administrative processes.

The IT Manager will oversee a small IT team (help desk + programmer) while collaborating closely with leadership and department managers to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, and drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Process & Software Development

• Analyze business processes across accounting, manufacturing, and operations to identify automation opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom software solutions using Visual Studio (C#, VB, ASP.NET) and SQL.
• Integrate ERP (SAP ECC) with custom applications, reporting, and data tools to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with department heads to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
• Mentor internal programmer on best practices in software development and process improvement.

2. ERP / SAP Management

• Manage, support, and optimize the company’s SAP ERP environment.
• Customize and extend ERP functionality through VB/SQL program tie-ins and reporting.
• Provide training and user support to ensure ERP adoption and efficiency.

3. IT Operations & Infrastructure

• Oversee daily IT operations, including servers, SANs, virtualization (VMware), and backups (Veeam).
• Maintain secure and reliable networking (SonicWall, VLANs, switches, Wi-Fi).
• Ensure cybersecurity best practices (CrowdStrike EDR, firewall configuration, user awareness training).
• Oversee help desk support for 250+ employees across the company.

4. Strategy & Leadership

• Work directly with the IT Director and senior management to align IT initiatives with business goals.
• Lead IT projects that deliver measurable business value.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in ERP, automation, and manufacturing IT.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms.
• Proven experience in software development (C#, VB, ASP.NET, SQL) and ERP systems (SAP ECC or similar).
• Experience in process automation, systems integration, or business intelligence.
• Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure (servers, VMware, SANs, firewalls).
• Previous experience managing IT staff or projects.
• Certifications (ITIL, ERP, security, or cloud) are a plus.
