Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Grocery Store Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the final point of contact for customers during their shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers promptly and courteously as they approach the checkout.
• Accurately scan grocery items using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, mobile pay, and EBT.
• Bag groceries carefully, ensuring products are handled with care and packed efficiently.
• Verify age for restricted items such as alcohol, in compliance with legal requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve minor complaints, or refer issues to management when necessary.
• Follow all store policies and procedures, including those related to safety, sanitation, and loss prevention.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service, especially in retail or grocery, is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a busy environment.
• Good basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.

Work Environment:
This role takes place in a busy grocery store environment. You'll interact with a diverse range of customers and team members and will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and courtesy at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
