Recognition Physics Institute is a tight-knit research company translating bold theories—spanning theoretical physics, advanced math, cosmology, and the philosophy of science—into real-world software. As our dedicated developer, you’ll take those early-stage concepts and craft the dependable tools and products that bring them to life. This is a fully in person position.
What You’ll Do
- Code every day — mostly in Python (primarily using Cursor, experience with Cursor is a must have)
- Verify and improve legacy code — review, debug, and refactor earlier scripts to keep everything clean, documented, and up to date
- Create and extend applications — work on various projects such as new applications, programs, etc.
- Proactive Coding Hygiene — structure projects, write docstrings, and handle pull requests
- Work side-by-side with the CEO and COO — collaborate directly with leadership to prototype, train, and fine-tune models that support ongoing research projects
Why We Need You
We have clever scientists but limited coding bandwidth. Your job is to:
- Turn rough prototype scripts into clean, reusable programs.
- Make it easy for non-coders to run tests and see results.
- Keep our growing pile of apps and products organised, documented, and version-controlled
