Job Summary
Director of Configuration leads the strategy, application configuration, implementation, and overall management of core enterprise applications that align with the company's strategic goals and operational requirements. This role oversees the entire configuration process to ensure applications are accurately set up in alignment with best practices and business requirements. A key responsibility of the Director is to manage vendor-owned software, with a strong focus on ensuring that vendors adhere to system-level KPIs and SLAs. The Director will ensure application governance processes are implemented effectively to support system oversight and smooth operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of configuration analysts to ensure successful project implementations and high performance.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that promotes professional growth and development.
- Build a high-performing configuration department to meet the organizational strategic goals and support ongoing operations.
Application Configuration and Implementation:
- Accountable for configuration of QNXT product suite, MHK CareProminence, Claims Editing Software (CES), and other business applications.
- Oversee the implementation and configuration activities, including prototyping, analysis, system configuration and documentation as needed, ensuring alignment with CenCal Health’s strategic objectives.
- Manage and optimize the use of applications to meet organizational needs and support IT in seamless integration across applications.
Configuration Change Management:
- Implement and manage configuration change request processes for referenced applications, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Establish issue triage and new request prioritization framework in consultation with business stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, industry standards, and organizational policies throughout the change process.
Release Management:
- Develop and implement a Release Management Policy and framework in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
- Oversee release management processes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of configuration changes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage and mitigate risks associated with configuration changes.
Quality Assurance:
- Direct quality assurance functions to ensure that all applications meet defined quality standards and perform effectively in production environments.
- Establish and enforce rigorous testing procedures, including functional, performance, and quality testing.
Strategic Planning and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to strategic planning for technology initiatives.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage budgets related to department staffing, tools, and other investments.
- Allocate resources effectively to support project priorities and organizational goals.
Vendor Management:
- Oversee relationships with external vendors from a business configuration perspective and ensure advocacy on business needs.
- Ensure that vendor deliverables meet organizational system requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for application change processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Prepare and present reports on project status, performance metrics, and key achievements to senior leadership.
