Overview

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the leadership, development, and operational excellence of the Project Services Engineering team, including engineers, associate engineers, and technicians. This individual will oversee the day-to-day performance of the engineering organization, ensuring clear direction, consistent accountability, and high-quality service delivery across all projects

He or she will provide the engineering team members with a framework and platform for career development; this will include both technical and professional development. Utilization and capacity management are key responsibilities; including the alignment of skill-set demand with skill-set capacity and coordinating with Project Management Office to manage Project pipelines and demand/delivery while ensuring our staff is adequately trained and prepared for current and emerging needs.

This person will function as a key member of the leadership team and act as a steward for technical direction and business-case ideas generated from within the technical staff; helping to shape the strategic direction and go-to-market approach of our technical service offerings and solutions.

This leader manages project expenses related to payroll, travel and miscellaneous expenses incurred in service delivery; this responsibility extends to optimizing resource utilization to deliver services with the least cost possible.

Responsibilities

► Conduct daily morning Stand-Up meetings reviewing individual assignments for that day

► Drive efficiency and quality through End-of-Day reports

► Provide career/professional development platform for technical resources within Project Services

► Help inform and guide our technical offerings and go-to-market strategy

► Work with Project Management Office to manage demand/capacity by skillset and project priority

► Help shape careers and technical skill sets of our stars and next generation of stars

► Provide team members with resources and incentives necessary to grow skill sets

► Conduct employee engagement / satisfaction surveys and identify ways to improve both

► Assist the sales operation in the development of strategic proposals

► Advancement of new offering ideas and use-case(s)

Qualifications

► 10+ years managing technical teams in Project Services operation

► Strong technical skill set

► Strong verbal and written communication skills

► Excellent customer service skills

► Strong organizational skills, superior attention to detail and quality awareness, and professional demeanor.

► Time management skills, strength at setting priorities, problem-solving and the ability to self-manage.

► Experience with Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
