Our Opportunity:
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the direction and operation of the technical infrastructure of the organization. This individual is responsible for all technical systems deployed to users, including the core banking operating system, PC and network (LAN/WAN) support and planning, information security, VOIP system / voice communications. The Director of Information Technology is responsible to manage team performance, project execution and budget oversight. This strategic leader will guide the Information Technology team, establishing, communicating, and managing performance expectations and goals. This role serves as the primary, technical infrastructure and security expert in the credit union, and ensures organizational compliance with appropriate policies, guidelines and regulations.
What You'll Do in This Role:
- Maintains the vulnerability management system. Completes periodic testing and track discovered vulnerabilities to mitigation. Manages appropriate IT operational staff to ensure that changes in the environment are performed timely and in accordance with best practices. Responsible for threat reporting and vulnerability management reporting to the VP of Information Systems.
- Provides leadership and strategic direction to the information technology team. Hires, leads, manages, and evaluates overall group and individual effectiveness and progress toward key goals. Ensures team members are provided with timely and constructive feedback through consistent structured coaching sessions. Ensures appropriate training, performance expectations, and accountability standards are communicated.
- Manages the daily operation and integration of organizational computer systems ensuring timely and accurate processing. Manages all aspects of the PC network (LAN's, and WAN's) to ensure timely support services and minimum downtime. Responsible for installing and supporting PC/LAN/WAN hardware, software, peripherals, communication links and technology, providing organizational project support and managing department technology projects.
- Performs research, evaluates, recommends, and develops capital and maintenance budgets for all aspects of the credit union’s LAN’s, WAN's, and PC systems.
- Conducts research, identifies vendors, develops requests for proposals (RFP), analyzes proposals, and recommends sound strategies for both small and large-scale technical projects.
- Prioritizes all aspects of new IT initiatives, projects and IT helpdesk tickets and coordinates staff resources to support organizational needs and high-quality service to end users. Interacts with stakeholders to gather requirements, document project updates, and provide appropriate stakeholder communications.
- Provides expertise to the organization while working collaboratively with organizational managers, senior managers, and team members. Assists with project prioritization, technical system troubleshooting and implementation of resolutions when appropriate.
- Oversees the management and maintenance of core technical systems, ensuring availability, integrity, scalability, performance, and security. Monitors and optimizes core system performance, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner and ensuring system releases are configured, deployed and maintained appropriately across the organization. Actively monitors and integrates emerging trends and best practices to enhance system performance.
- Aids in developing, maintaining and communicating all the policies, standards and procedures related to technology systems to help users effectively use the system to support the organizational and business goals, and to ensure the security of company data and data systems.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
What You'll Bring To CCF:
- Five to Ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
- Five+ years of successful experience in leading teams.
- A college degree.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
- In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
- Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
- Ability to be bonded.
- Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
- Extensive application support experience.

Work Location: This position is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Hybrid working arrangements are available following 4-6 months of successful employment.
