IT Director

The Opportunity & Role Summary

California Industrial Rubber Company, a 65-year stable leader, is looking for a candidate to lead our digital transformation by implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This hands-on strategic role requires initial training with the current Director to understand our existing COBOL-based applications and infrastructure (Unix, Windows, network). The Director will then build the IT roadmap and execute the company-wide ERP transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic ERP Leadership: Define the IT vision, build the long-term application roadmap, and directly drive the ERP system implementation and transformation.
• Legacy System Transition: Rapidly learn the operational COBOL environment to ensure a smooth, risk-free data migration and system transition.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage all core systems (network, storage, database, email, virtual infrastructure) and lead the long-term cybersecurity strategy.
• Hands-on Operations: Manage IT strategy, processes, and documentation, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day hands-on systems administration.

Required Technical Experience

• IT Management: 5 years (Required)
• ERP Implementation: Proven experience in ERP software (5+ years) and leading ERP digital transformations/process reengineering.
• Infrastructure: 7+ years managing Microsoft Windows Servers, LAN/WAN, and CIR networks.
• Business Systems: 5+ years with Retail IT Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Legacy Acumen: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand existing systems (like COBOL) for effective transition planning.
• Expertise in systems administration, storage, databases, virtual environments, and security best practices.

Key Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and wholesale environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of mobile devices and end-user computing technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Preferred: Direct COBOL experience or a Bachelor's in IT/Computer Science.
