IT Systems Administrator (macOS/M365/UniFi/Synology)
Reports to: CEO/CIO
Support model: One-person IT with escalation support from trusted outside IT partners
About Us
MISC Products Inc is a growing organization of approximately 100 employees supporting both office and operational teams. Our IT environment is modern and cloud-forward, built primarily around macOS endpoints, Microsoft 365, a Ubiquiti UniFi network stack, and Synology NAS for storage and key network services. We’re looking for an IT Systems Administrator who can take ownership of day-to-day IT, improve security and reliability, and deliver excellent service to our employees.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys owning IT end-to-end: supporting users, managing devices, maintaining network/storage systems, and improving security. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership and improving systems. You’ll be the primary IT professional on-site, working with outside partners for specialized projects or advanced escalations.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Support & Device Management
- Provide responsive Tier 1–2 support for onsite users, primarily in a macOS environment (approximately 50 devices)
- Manage endpoint lifecycle: provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, troubleshooting, repairs/warranty
- Administer device management using Addigy MDM: enrollment, compliance, patching, scripting, software deployment
- Maintain IT asset inventory, documentation, and user-facing knowledge base
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Support and administer Microsoft 365 services including user accounts, licensing, Exchange/Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive
- Manage identity and access control, MFA enforcement, group policies, and secure access practices
Network & Infrastructure
- Administer and troubleshoot Ubiquiti UniFi network infrastructure (APs, switches, gateways)
- Maintain VLANs/network segmentation, firewall rules, VPN/remote access, Wi-Fi performance and coverage
- Monitor uptime, performance, and proactively resolve stability issues
Storage, Backup & Core Services
- Administer Synology NAS for file sharing, permissions, backups, and system health
- Ensure backups are configured, monitored, and tested regularly (restore verification)
- Maintain file access controls aligned with business needs and security practices
Light Cybersecurity Ownership
- Manage patching/updates across macOS and Windows systems; enforce security baselines
- Maintain endpoint protection / EDR practices and work with vendors/partners as needed
- Improve security posture: phishing resilience, access reviews, vulnerability mitigation
- Participate in incident response coordination and basic security reporting
Business Applications / ERP Support
- Support cloud applications including PLEX Manufacturing Cloud ERP and related user access issues
- Coordinate with vendors and support partners to resolve issues and implement improvements

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in IT support / systems administration (or equivalent)
- Strong macOS administration skills in a business environment
- Hands-on MDM experience (Addigy preferred; Jamf/Kandji/Intune acceptable)
- Microsoft 365 administration experience (user support + basic admin tasks)
- Experience managing small-business networks (UniFi experience strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with NAS/storage administration (Synology preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills, documentation habits, and customer-service mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing or operational environments
- Familiarity with ERP support (PLEX experience a strong plus)
- Scripting/automation skills (Bash/Zsh, Python, PowerShell)
- Working knowledge of identity + security tooling (MFA, conditional access concepts)
- Network fundamentals: VLANs, DNS/DHCP, firewall rules, Wi-Fi design

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
