Job description

Job Title: IT Financial Management Specialist

Location: Onsite – Tallahassee, FL

Scope of Work

  • The scope of work the candidate will perform is broad.
  • The candidate will be responsible for financial services for IT planning and control.
  • The candidate will analyze, prepare, and monitor the IT budget and expenditures.
  • The candidate will develop proposals with supporting documentation and justification.

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years of financial management experience, including managing teams responsible for economic analysis, planning, cost analysis, and financial statements.
  • Experience with Florida Statewide Financial Management Systems.
  • Experience with Florida legislative budget processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional implementation projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving organizational change.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzing IT financial conditions and developing recommendations for senior IT leadership.
  • Providing financial statements such as monthly budgets and summary reports.
  • Reviewing and approving deliverables for contract and purchase order payments.
  • Developing financial metrics and conducting reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Driving standard accounting practices, reconciliations, and consistent reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, as well as internal policies.
  • Create user guides, process documentation, and self-service resources.
  • Implement automated feedback collection and analysis procedures.
  • Develop continuous improvement workflows and enhancement tracking systems.
  • Must complete daily reporting activities.

Knowledge of:

  • Financial management principles and practices, particularly in IT environments.
  • IT budgeting processes, cost accounting, and financial planning methodologies.
  • Government procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
  • IT infrastructure costs, licensing models, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Financial analysis techniques including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations.
  • Budget development processes and variance analysis.
  • IT service management and operational cost structures.
  • Legislative budget request processes and documentation requirements.
  • Financial reporting standards and audit procedures.
  • IT project financial management and capital expenditure planning.

  • Think strategically about long-term IT financial planning while managing day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams – team leadership, resource allocation, and performance management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
