- Subject Matter Expert: Become the Rodeo SME where Open Dental and Dexis Imaging are concerned. Form relationships with OD engineering, implementation, and training teams. Study and engage in online forums to collaborate as needed.
- Champion: Champion the OD application and mentor/train teams and individuals.
- Product/Project Manager: Oversee the lifecycle of each OD release from evaluation and testing through deployment and production use. Analyze OD release notes and collaborate with teams to evaluate workflow optimizations and testing strategies. Perform technical project management activities and publish status and results.
- OD Sandbox Systems: Work with team members who test new features and capabilities in sandbox environments. Make the sandbox access and testing experience efficient and rewarding.
- OD Upgrades: Coordinate production OD upgrades with individual Office Leaders and lead the upgrade process across the enterprise.
- User Account Administration: Create doctor and user accounts, maintain and assign user roles and permissions, and plug into the onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Naming Conventions: Implement standardized naming conventions across all aspects of the product to facilitate user comprehension and enterprise-wide reporting. Examples include Appt types and colors, operatory names, procedure codes, adjustment types, and other entity definitions and lists.
- Standard Workflows: Work with operations to configure windows, settings, and system behaviors to facilitate workflow optimizations. Educate the teams on new capabilities that may help improve workflows.
- Appointment Board Maintenance: Implement changes required to enforce standardization initiatives. Add and modify columns, configure Specialty Appt Views, set standard Appt lengths, and monitor block-outs.
- Speed and Ease of Use: Master all settings and configure OD to facilitate workflows, minimize screen hopping, and reduce keystrokes. Regularly benchmark office instances to ensure OD is responding quickly and efficiently.
- Third-Party Integrations: Make the OD configuration changes needed to support FLEX, Airpay, Overjet, OrthoFi, RAB, etc. Help administer these applications if time permits.
- User Feedback: Survey the user base to gain insight into user satisfaction. Create plans to mitigate user frustrations.
- Backups and DB Maintenance: Work with the IT team to ensure backups run at scheduled times without interruption and test random backups for integrity. This includes local ioSafe and cloud-based backups.
- Real-time Replications: Resolve OD issues that interrupt RT replications so that the RCM team may continue working without interruption.
- OD Support Tickets: Prioritize and work the OD support ticket queue to ensure that issues get resolved in a timely manner. Work with the rest of the team to find creative ways to eliminate common problems.
- Communication: Provide system status updates to operations, doctors, departments, regions, and/or offices where critical issues are concerned. Let the teams know when system maintenance is performed and changes get implemented.
