JOB TITLE: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR, FULL-TIME

JOB LOCATION: Off-site, at client location – Bay Area

Job Description:

  • Provides technical and operational guidance to ensure that installed systems are working effectively
  • Consults and collaborates with IT staff, management and technology vendors in support of collaboration applications
  • Monitors, analyzes, recommends and implements service improvements to enhance customer satisfaction, resource utilization and overall satisfaction of collaboration applications
  • Configures and maintains systems on a scheduled basis
  • Ensures and coordinates upgrades and changes to software and troubleshoots issues
  • Maintains knowledge of features of current and future application versions
  • Learns new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • 5-7 years, combination of certifications and experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience with cloud/virtualization technologies preferred
  • SQL server 2008/2012
  • 3 years supporting Office 365
  • 3 years’ experience with Active Directory , backup software, Windows Server and Red Hat Linux operating systems
  • VoIP experience, preferably Cisco Unified Messaging and Call Manager
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with PCs and networking in a Windows 2012+
  • 4 years’ experience with network systems including routing protocols, switches, firewalls, VPN, wireless access points, enterprise server platforms and remote access systems
  • General understanding of and some working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
  • Great communicator – this person will be interacting with clients in all areas and will support the CTO and CEO on a regular basis

Have the Ability to:

  • Carry and move all components of PC workstations, servers, network equipment, peripherals and ancillary equipment (50 lbs)
  • Multitask and prioritize
  • Apply language skills to read, analyze and utilize procedure manuals, instructional and software manuals, textbooks and needed resources on learning strategies
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of faculty, students and general public
  • Apply mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, circumference and volume; apply concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Apply reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram format and deal with several variables
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work
  • Work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Implement and administer network systems, set up and maintain policies and rights/security within a Windows Server 2000 to 2012 environment

Licenses Desired:

  • MCSE or MCIPT (any MS certification, proof required)
  • BS in a technical discipline
  • Cisco CCNA
  • VMWare ESX 4.0, 5.0
  • Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop

About the Company:

We are a technical consulting firm with offices in Los Angeles, Denver, Omaha, San Diego, Honolulu, Portland and Reno, with the main office in San Jose. We provide on-site tech support for a number of clients in real estate, education, health plans, county agencies and hi-tech industries.

Initial interviewing for this position will be by telephone interview. On acceptance of an offer from the company, the candidate will be sent off-site for live-scan fingerprinting, paid by the company, as part of a company-paid state- and federal-level background check.
