Overview
We are seeking a Tier 3 Systems Engineer who blends deep technical capability with exceptional client experience skills. This role is equal parts high‑level engineering, project execution, solution architecture, and trusted advisor. You will directly influence client satisfaction, technical standards, and project outcomes.
You will have demonstrated that you are humble, hungry, and smart—a strong communicator who remains calm under pressure, organizes work effectively, and can translate complex technology into clear business value and support our team in the delivery of exceptional client service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Applicants must be able to commute daily to our offices in Cedar Park, TX.
- 4‑year degree in Physics, Mathematics, or related physical sciences.
- 3+ years in an MSP or similar multi‑tenant IT environment.
- Strong professional writing, verbal, and in-person communication.
- Highly organized with strong follow‑through abilities.
- Sales‑engineering instincts: ability to ask the right questions, uncover use-cases, and propose aligned solutions.
- Deep experience with: Network Infrastructure hardware and software, Windows Server & virtualization (Hyper‑V / vSphere), Azure VDI / AVD, Group Policy + Intune, SharePoint/OneDrive business structure,
- Network segmentation (VLANs)
- Strong cyber security acumen and experience with configuring, deploying, and managing layered security tools
- Strong understanding of and interest in Applied AI
Core Responsibilities
- Client Experience & Communication
- Act as a senior technical point of escalation while maintaining a client‑first, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
- Communicate clearly in both written and spoken form; simplify technical issues into business terms.
- Demonstrate fast situational thinking and strong sales‑engineering presence during client discussions.
- Provide recommendations for cost‑effective, business‑aligned hardware and solutions.
Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead and execute MSP projects: migrations, deployments, security rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Own onboarding processes and ensure smooth technical transitions for new clients.
- Review and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and project scopes.
- Lead root‑cause analysis, retrospective reviews, and high‑severity incident resolution.
Systems Engineering & Infrastructure
- Architect, deploy, and support:
- Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Services)
- Hyper‑V and VMware vSphere
- Remote Desktop Gateway
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD / Azure VDI)
- Group Policy, Intune, and modern‑management environments
- SharePoint configuration, including handling default site structure and ODSP mapping
- OneDrive mapped drive replacements (Known Folder Move, sync redesign)
Security, Compliance & Firewalls
- Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure.
- Obtain certification(s) needed to comply with vendor partnerships
- Implement and maintain layered security tools.
- Support CMMC‑aligned environments, documentation, controls, and evidence gathering.
MSP Operations
- Demonstrate hands‑on MSP experience: accurate and timely time keeping, ticketing workflow, SLA adherence, client communication cadence, project pipelines.
- Mentor Tier 1–2 technicians; assist in developing internal best practices.
- Interpret utilization metrics for continuous improvement.
Pay: $72,990.00 - $91,990.00 per year
