Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Apply critical thinking, analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills to anticipate and ensure the integrity and utility of data and information developed for leadership.
• Conduct data analyses using Torrance Memorial’s various data sources including Cerner’s HealtheIntent system and other sources to answer complex questions for business needs.
• Develop advanced SQL queries to build standard data sets and create business intelligence solutions to facilitate and streamline data reporting and analysis needs.
• Create and maintain high impact reports including ad-hoc reporting requested by various departments. It includes working with internal and external stakeholders, troubleshoot, and resolve any potential data issues.
• Serve as a mentor for junior level analysts and provide technical assistance to develop advanced skills and technical expertise on SQL query language and tool sets (SSIS, SSRS), BI tools (Tableau, Business Objects, etc.), and Cerner HealtheIntent system.
• Manage multiple projects and analyses simultaneously while meeting key deadlines and deliverables, and prioritizing time and resources. Be able to document projects methodologies to support system-wide standardized approach and for future references.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or similar function at a health care setting is preferred
• 5+ years of Data Analytics role and DBA experience (SSMS or MySQL server is preferred)
• 2-4 years of experience supporting, developing and implementing data-driven reporting solutions using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Business Objects preferred
• Hands on experience with creating the semantic layer with BI tools, along with building queries in SQL and optimization of SQL query performance
• Advanced Knowledge of ETL and reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Integration services, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services preferred.
• Ability to simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by users
• Highly Proficient with creating, maintaining, and optimizing Tableau workbooks.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analyses and business needs in a clear precise, and actionable manner to deliver to an audience.
• Strong analytical background with experience in navigating, querying, & combining diverse data sets across multiple systems utilizing SAS, SQL, and/or other programming tools & languages
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, OFFSET, AVERAGEIF, INDEX, MATCH, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44.10 - $68.53 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
