Manifest clerk
The Manifest Clerk, a vital role in logistics, meticulously tracks and oversees the movement of goods, verifying delivery records, preparing shipping manifests, and coordinating with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely deliveries. Their attention to detail helps maintain the flow of goods efficiently throughout the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all cargo is manifested correctly and accurately according to company standards
- Communicate with freight forwarders, customers, and other stakeholders regarding manifest discrepancies
- Verify and update shipment information in the computer system
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely and accurate shipment of cargo
- Prepare and distribute necessary documentation for international shipments, including bills of lading and customs forms
- Assist in resolving issues related to shipment delays and discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws regarding cargo shipments
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Requirements:
- - High school diploma or equivalent
- - Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
- - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- - Knowledge of shipping and logistics procedures
- - Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- - Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
