Summary
-
Responsible for minimal to intermediate, installation and maintenance of servers and other related equipment. Responsible for minimal to intermediate server configurations, operational changes, and monitoring scenarios. Responsible for operation and maintaining compute/storage, backup and mail environments. Responsible for daily server operability and monitoring and responding to received email requests. Responsible to provide on-call support for Server Administration team on rotating weekly basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain practical to in-depth knowledge based on role for the following:
- Server operation systems to include: Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Linux, etc...
-
Server and storage components such as host servers, virtualization, hypervisors, SAN technologies.
-
DNS, DHCP, print sharing, firewalls, and associated cabling.
-
Data archiving and air gap technologies.
-
Messaging technologies such as email and mobile device management.
-
Cloud technologies.
- Install, configure, and setup server equipment in server rooms and IT closets, maintain software on corporate servers, appliances, enclosures, and components.

Utilize and administer monitoring systems for hardware and software server health, capacities, and environment variables, responding to alert conditions in accordance with established priority levels.

Document all calls and problems using corporate ticketing and incident handling software.

Understand and follow all established policies and procedures explicitly in guidance with privileged access.

Complete all required courses and exams in a timely manner.

Ambition to learn and use new software programs and tools, attending associated courses as deemed necessary or as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Server Administrator I
-
1 - 2 years of experience in networking in the LAN/WAN environment, preferably with Microsoft products.
- 2 years of experience with Microsoft Network Operations Systems.

Knowledge of TCP/IP.

Preferred Previous experience with virtual technologies, messaging technologies, and cloud technologies.

Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Server Administrator II

3 - 4 years of experience in data backup/recovery management or messaging technologies.
- 3 - 4 years of experience in networking in the LAN/WAN environment, preferably with Microsoft products.

3 years of experience working directly with Microsoft Network Operating Systems.

Preferred knowledge or experience with backup software such as Commvault or Exchange 2019 or M365.
- Knowledge of backup hardware systems (SANs, Tape Libraries, etc.).

Knowledge of TCP/IP.

Preferred previous experience with cloud, virtual, and storage technologies.

Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
