The Database Administrator I is responsible for the basic management and maintenance of the organization's databases. This individual will monitor the database performance, perform routine backups, and assist with the implementation of security measures. The Database Administrator I will work under the guidance of senior team members, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity and availability. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree in a field of study relevant to the current position is preferred. A minimum of 0-3 years' experience in a similar or related role required; however, candidates with an equivalent combination of experience, education, certification, and demonstrated proficiency in a similar or related role will also be considered.
Licensure/Certifications:
- One or more current, industry standard certifications preferred (CompTIA DataSys+, CompTIA Data+, Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Database 23ai Certified Associate, etc.).
- Working familiarity with popular database management systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc..
- Basic understanding of SQL for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accuracy in database management.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing technologies and business needs.
