Job description
Are you early in your IT career and ready to get hands-on with real systems that matter? Meridian Cooperative is looking for a Systems Administrator I to help maintain, support, and improve our core IT infrastructure while learning from experienced systems and IT professionals. In this role, you’ll support servers, applications, and internal systems, troubleshoot issues, help keep our environment secure and reliable, and collaborate closely with IT teammates to deliver great service across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain, configure, and support servers, applications, and operating systems
- Troubleshoot system and application issues to ensure uptime and performance
- Support user access, authentication, permissions, and security controls
- Assist with help desk escalations and customer-facing system issues
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical problems
- Monitor system performance, backups, and security updates
- Document configurations, procedures, and solutions
- Learn best practices while contributing to system improvements and new technologies
What You'll Bring
- Two years of relevant experience required in a systems administration role or related role with server/network experience preferred.
- Exposure to enterprise operating systems and infrastructure
- Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, storage, or backup technologies
- Some experience supporting servers, networks, or IT systems (preferred, not required)
- Foundational knowledge of systems administration, networking, and virtualization
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and eagerness to learn

- Paid Time Off: Eligible to begin accrual from date of hire; accrual amount based on years of service. Beginning accrual rate equivalent to 22 days per year. 10 holidays which include the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Up to 240 hours of PTO can roll over to the following year.
- Volunteer Time: 8 hours per year
- Retirement: Robust 401K. Following one year of eligible service, the Company contributes in two ways: (1) match of 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first five percent (5%) of eligible compensation, and (2) Employer basic contribution of 4% of base salary (with increases in basic contribution percentage based on years of service). Employees are 100% vested in Company funded contributions from the date they enter the plan.
