EHR/EMR Clinical IT Manager

Job Summary:

Manage the configuration, implementation, and optimization of clinical IT applications, including EHR/EMR systems. Ensure seamless integration, support clinical staff training, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze organizational needs, define functional requirements, and oversee system configuration and implementation.
  • Test software releases, upgrades, and patches, and communicate changes to clinical staff.
  • Assess and address training needs for clinicians and staff regarding EHR usage.
  • Lead change management initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders to enhance system workflows.
  • Coordinate data exchange to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Act as the primary contact for vendors and internal users concerning EHR systems, interfaces, reports, and dashboards.
  • Develop and document current EHR workflows and continuously optimize processes.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously to improve clinical technology use.
  • Facilitate various training formats including individual sessions, group training, and workshops.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise on EHR/EMR systems and evolving best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of project management/implementation experience and 3 years of experience in business analysis, systems applications, and EHR/EMR management.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • EHR Certification required.
  • Experience in training and supporting EHR applications, with preference for medical group or ambulatory settings.

Skill:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Proven expertise in EHR/EMR configuration, training, and implementation.
  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to influence leadership and manage change in dynamic environments.

Summary Qualification:

  • Extensive experience in EHR/EMR system management and clinical IT operations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing system implementations and change management processes.
  • Proficient in developing effective training programs for clinical staff.
  • Strong leadership combined with a deep understanding of regulatory compliance.
